In 2008 I 'persuaded' my boss to give me three months off work, picked up my backpack, and set off to explore South East Asia. From my current home in China, I flew to Kuala Lumpur, before heading north to Chiang Mai in Thailand, then into Burma (Myanmar). I then headed east and picked up the course of the Mekong river through Laos and Cambodia. After a trip to the ruins of Angkor, I ended up in the Mekong Delta in Vietnam.
